Colleen Ardaman

about

The bold paint stokes in Colleen Ardaman’s works bring to life the artist’s fascination with surface light & color and the internal dialogue between spirit and the objects they encounter.  Ardaman, is known to be a collector of things.  Her extensive travels inspire her artworks. 

 

She often takes apart her artwork to re-form into new art and recycles her parts and pieces to give more depth and layering to each unique creation. 

 

She has shown her work internationally, Holland and Italy. Her artwork, “Maria Callas”, has been used by the Florida Opera Theatre and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for promotions. Selected to promote Music Fest in Florida with her “Jazz up my Blues” Guitar Sculpture.  Commissioned to paint Charlie Bird Parker and “The Blues” series, now in private collection in Tennessee. She is selected by the Orlando Museum of Art to show in the 1st Thursday events and received “Best of Show” and other top awards.

 

She has been commissioned for art pieces throughout the USA.  From large to small, printmaking, painting, and sculpture; her art is highly desired. Selected multiple times as one of University of New Mexico’s top painters, to participate in the “UNM Artists at the DH Lawrence Ranch” , Taos , NM, a two week painters workshop and exhibition. 

 

Her “Human Touch” series of paintings is on permanent display in the Daskalos Collection in Albuquerque, NM. Colleen’s Art is in private estate collections, “Kachina Series” and “Venetian Bathers”, in Albuquerque, NM.  Colleen’s Opera series, “Step Into It”, is in a private collection in Florida.

She has shown internationally and won awards in the United States for Best of Show.

 

Ardaman is the Founder of a memorial mural, ORLANDO TRAVELING MEMORIAL, traveling the USA involving over 1000 people using art therapy for healing from the aftermath of the three tragedies in Orlando the week of June 12, 2016, Pulse Tragedy, singer Christina Grimmie, toddler Lane Graves passings.

She is an avid traveler and collector of things; history, books, and pebbles.
